Roberto “Bert” Mason hails from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. After high school, Bert enlisted in the United States Air Force two weeks prior to September 11th. While in the Air Force he had the privilege to serve at various locations in Europe, Japan, and the Middle East. Professionally, Bert spent his military career in the aviation maintenance career field as a propulsion systems specialist and subsequently earned a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership. Later in his military career, Bert was assigned to a strategic leadership role at Headquarters Air Combat Command on Joint-Base Langley-Eustis where he was responsible for maintenance, logistics, and sustainment of 2,100 fighter aircraft engines valued at over $2 billion annually supporting National Defense Strategy.

Bert’s real estate journey began in North Carolina attending seminars hosted by the North Carolina Real Estate Investors Association (NCREIA). As a result of this training, Bert completed a variety of on and off-market transactions as an investor with the assistance from local agents and a property management company. Early success in the residential rental business enabled him to grow a portfolio which expanded to other markets in eastern North Carolina, Chicago, and later founded R&M Property Investment Group, LLC. His passion for real estate and decades of serving others were compelling reasons to make a stronger commitment to the broader real estate industry as a Realtor ®.

When he’s not engaged in Real Estate or National Defense, Bert is an FAA certified private pilot and enjoys all aspects of music production. Bert and his wife Michelle currently reside in Newport News and have two teenage children.
